1) Do not use any kind of cleaning or sanitizing products in the tank of your toilet- this can cause unnecessary break down of the rubber parts in side the tank. Instead if you like to use these products, find the type that hang in the bowl.

2) Never flush dental floss or anything other then toilet paper down the toilet; this is one of the most common problems in clogs and is completely avoidable

3) Flush your hot water heater once a year to help prevent mineral build up in the bottom of the tank and to possibly prolong the life of your water heater.

4) Always winterize your outside faucets by shutting the valve inside and leaving the faucet on outside.
